{Mickey Mouse} Party

In 2010, in April, we had the most amazing trip a parent could want for! We flew, from Sydney Australia, to LAX, took a bus to Anaheim and spent a very very quick 5 days doing Disneyland... EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!!! It was incredible!!! The child who showed most enthusiasm to it all was Travis, he is STILL talking about it and what we will do when we go next time! So we thought it only fitting to prepare a Mickey mouse Party for him (actually, it was in the planning stages while we were in the U.S, which made it very easy to get some cool stuff that we needed)

Here are my munchkins, Travis' outfit and Jacob's Tshirt were from ebay, cost about $10 each.
Ella's Tshirt was one of my own graphics (if you can see the little "Ella-Rose" on the hat of the goth girl.

The decorations were fairly limited as we had quite a few people coming and we didn't want to create chaos by cramming the room full of decos. This table cloth was so cute! From Walmart in the USA!

These are adorable little Oreo Mickey silhouettes that I saw somewhere on my cyber travels (sorry, cant remember where, but know it's not my own idea) So easy to make! Tutorial??? YEAH!!!

1) Pack of regular sized Oreos, skewers and a large pack of round chocolate melts.
2) Put away two Melts per Oreo and a few to spare incase some break.
3) Melt the rest of the melts in a bowl in the microwave in short bursts, mixing well between.
4) [One at a time] Separate the Oreo, slather with melted chocolate (but not so much that it will spill out the sides) place the two full melts "like ears" and a the skewer and put the Oreo back together again.
5) Pop in fridge until solid.
6) EAT!

Us and the kids... LOVE

Mickey shaped fairy bread

The Favors for the kids, I made a Pook-a-Looz Mickey or Minnie for each child based on their gender, inside the bag was also a couple of little lollipops and a Mickey/Minnie hi-bounce ball that we picked up in the US.

Little water bottles for during the party, again Mickey and Minnie gender specific. Graphics by me!

Travis and his beloved friend Mickey from our trip. These are little tags for our party bottles, they appear each party with juice and punch inside them.

The adult party gifts, Mickey packages... and inside...

...Mickey headphones picked up from ebay for a steal!

I wont add any more photos as there were lots of people who may or may not want their photo up. But for activities we had pass the parcel, a colouring in competition (pics of Mickey) and we made Mickey/Minnie keyrings with little trinkets I picked up from ebay.

TIP: Plan well in advance so you have time to make (or purchase at a bargain) the things you need

Travis's cake cake was a simple Coles mud cake with cute little buntings that say "Happy Birthday Travis" they would be really easy to make from fabric or scrap booking paper! We also had store bought ice cream cake (because it was summer!)

Hope you have found some inspiration!
